Supporting Work Readiness
Giving young talent a chance
Many young people struggle to find a way into work because they lack the experience and skills that companies look for. Through CEO for One Month and Experience Work Day, we give young people hands-on experience to help them to get a foot on the career ladder and prepare for success.
CEO For One Month
The CEO of tomorrow will be quite different from the CEO of today. Both have much to learn from each other. Our aim is to find creative, innovative leaders among today’s youth and offer them the career opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to spend 24/7x 30 days with Adecco Group CEO, Alain Dehaze. It starts at local level, where 47 young women and men are selected to shadow the Adecco CEOs in their home countries. After rigorous assessment and a grueling boot camp, only one of the 47 will be chosen as Global CEO for One Month and start his or her journey with Alain. In 2018, we received more than 204,000 initial applications for the programme But the value is not only for those who make it to the final round. All applicants receive information, tools and support that will help them move from the world of education to the world of work. For more information, please visit the CEO for One Month website.
Experience Work Day
Hands-on work experience is vital in today’s labour market, and young people are often excluded. On Experience Work Day, offices across the Adecco Group open our doors to thousands of young people, inviting them to work alongside us to learn from our experts. In 2018, Experience Work Day gave more than 7,000 young people in 46 countries the chance to see the business from the inside, thanks to 4,200 Adecco Group mentors. For a peek inside this year’s Experience Work Day, April 24, visit ceofor1month.com/experience-work-day.

Harnessing the power of sport to change lives
Win4Youth inspires Adecco Group employees, associates and clients to live an active and healthy life by engaging in sports. The model is simple: log your time or kilometers spent doing your favourite sports, and raise money for programmes that help young people around the world to be work-ready. This popular programme already engages over 22,000 of our 34,000 employees. Including associates and clients, in 2017, nearly 50,000 participants logged more than 7.3 million kilometres. This resulted in a total donation of 500,000 CHF. From 2018, we are pleased to work with Plan International as our Global Charity Partner. Our donation will support their current work and we will collaborate on new solutions to global youth unemployment. For full information, visit win4youth.com.
The pinnacle of the Win4Youth programme is an annual triathlon. This year, we will be the lead sponsor of the Win4Youth Triathlon in Lanzarote, Spain on October 27. Colleagues, associates, clients, friends and family are invited to join us. Registration details and full information can be found on the Win4Youth website.
For those who want to go further, we have the Win4Youth Ambassador programme. Each year, 73 participants are chosen from among employees and associates, to undergo professional triathlon training and to race together in October. Starting with the May boot camp, they challenge themselves and each other, sweat and struggle, cheer and cry together through the final race. The Ambassadors are chosen not for their fitness, but based on personal commitment, team spirit and the potential to transform their own lives and those of others. The triathlon showcases what Win4Youth and our social programmes stand for: helping others to go beyond their expectations and to reach their potential.
But engagement does not end at the finish line. Our Ambassador Alumni are the link between the past and future. They support the new Ambassadors, rally support and live the values of Win4Youth. Led by the 2018 W4Y Global Champion Alex Ridder, they are the human face of the programme. Learn more about the Alumni network.
Global Sports & Inclusion Day
An inclusive workforce is a successful workforce. Our Global Sports & Inclusion Day (GS&ID) raises awareness about the importance of a truly diverse team. It uses sport as an entry point to bring together our employees and clients with top athletes, both with and without impairments, to learn about the social and economic value of diversity. By trying new challenges like wheelchair basketball, or swimming for non-swimmers, participants come away with a broader understanding of hidden abilities and potential. When we launched the first GS&ID in 2017, nearly 2,500 Adecco Group employees and 70 professional athletes took part across 49 countries. The GS&ID 2018 will be held on June 15 around the world.
